Marilu Henner, best now for her role as Elaine on he
popular 80’s show Taxi and more recently her appearance as
a celebrity on Donald Trumps celebrity Apprentice, has
been living a healthy lifestyle so successfully she has
published a number of best selling books.
The most recent, “Total Health Makeover”, outlines a 10 step
program for being healthy. The ten steps include
eliminating chemicals, caffeine and nicotine, processed sugar,
meats, & diary. She also believes in food combing for
better digestion, reduce and change the fats you eat, exercise
daily, get plenty of rest, and do everything with
gusto!
What we like about this
plan The plan works and promotes all the
healthy aspects of healthy living. The plan has a
wonderful website that offers support, online classes and live
chats with Marilu. Website membership is less than the
average online website. The recipes are compliment this plan
are delicious. Marilu encourages exercise as a stress
reduction and for weight loss in her
book.
What we
dislike about this plan It can be very
hard to live without all the food groups Marilu has eliminated.
This can make the plan a struggle for many individuals.
Food combining is an unproven hot button topic in the weight
loss industry. Marilu has
a few controversial viewpoints that have no scientific
proof.
How
Healthy Is this Plan? The plan is
healthy, but extremely limited. Marilu has many healthy
concepts (maybe too many!) for a person to
follow. There are some dieticians who feel the diet
is too restrictive - or claim that it is simply a vegetarian
diet. However, from looking over her website - this is
more than a weight loss diet - but an attempt to gain overall
good health (mind and body).

make a total change of eating habits; those who have tried and

plan that is tough for many, but will improve your overall
health as well as waistline!
