Diet - Green Tea has been used in
Asia for its healthy
benefits. Chinese legend states that in 2737 B.C.
Emperor Shen Nung was boiling some water for
drinking when some leaves from a tree nearby flew in the
pot. He became captivated with the wonderful smell
and taste. By 800 A.D., Buddhist monks returning
from their studies in China brought green tea to
Japan.
Green tea has been used for thousands of years for
its positive effect on health; recent scientific research has
proven it to have many positive effects on the body.
Studies show that antioxidants present in green tea may reduce
cholesterol: act as an anti-inflammatory in the body: improve
blood vessel functions and protect against cardiovascular
disease. In addition, it has been shown to aid in the
thermogenic effect which is helpful in burning fat.
Today there many manufactures that include green tea extract in
there product. They include Trimspa and
CortiSlim.
What we like about this plan
We like the fact that
buying a box of green tea is relatively
inexpensive. Studies have show very concrete
positive benefits. These include green tea being
useful as a glucose regulator, meaning it slows the rise
in blood sugar following a meal if drank before the
meal. Researchers also believe that green tea
may be useful in delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s
disease by inhibiting three important brain-damaging
chemicals: acetylcholimesterase, butyrylcholinesterase,
and beta-secretase. These three chemicals are
linked with plaque and protein deposits in the
brain.
What we dislike about this
plan The
supplement blends we looked at, “The Ultimate Green Tea”
and the “NuBodi Green Tea’ are both receiving negative
feedback. Nubodi is facing public accusations as a
scam corporation. Other dislikes include
supplements are not approved by the FDA, there is no
support/plan on how to maintain weight loss, it does not
promote exercise, and some add additional caffeine which
can cause nausea, racing heart and jitters.
How Healthy Is This
Plan? The research on using green tea as a dietary
supplement shows promise when used in conjunction with a well
balanced, healthy diet plan. A recent study published in
the American Medical Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Volume 81
No 1, 122-129, January 2005) indicates the ingestion of green
tea catechins leads to both a lowering of body fat and
cholesterol levels. There is a need for much more
research to examine its effect on weight loss and the proper
way to use it in a diet program.

Line Be
smart and stay away from green tea extract tablets mentioned
above and others. Green tea is different from all other teas
because of the way it is extracted, which keeps its properties
more intact for the body to benefit from this tea than the
others. Keep in mind, there is no such thing as a miracle tea.
Weight loss requires discipline and a healthy plan of action.
It is also undetermined how much is enough or even possibly too
much. The easiest, safest
way to add green tea to your healthy diet and exercise plan is
to switch a cup or two of your daily cups of coffee to green
tea.
