Howard at Cambridge University, England, in the early
1970’s. The formula to this plan is to provide enough
protein to protect lean tissue, a limited level of
carbohydrates to promote ketosis and the proper levels of
essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals to support a
healthy lifestyle. It began exclusively at weight loss
clinics and is now available commercially.
The company recommends 3 meals (pre-packaged powders by the
company) which can be costly, for quick weight loss. It also
has a less aggressive plan which a dieter can purchase shakes,
formulas, meal soups, nutrition bars all via the official
website. It is here you can hire an accredited counselor to
help you with the plan.
What we like
about this plan It is a quick fix for fast weight
loss. Nothing says “I am Bad!”, like looking at a scale after a
few days and seeing weight loss! People have reportedly lost
100’s of pounds on this plan. Having a diet counselor might
just keep you on your best behavior. Products do not compromise
taste.
What we dislike
about this plan “Powdered Formula” food just cannot
teach dieters proper eating habits. This is not a long-term
solution to weight loss. The extremely low-calorie value of the
plan is too restrictive. The cost of the diet is a bit high,
and exhausting to stay on.
How healthy is
this plan? The Cambridge Diet alone does not
promote a healthy lifestyle. Aside from an extremely low
caloric intake, eating only processed foods is not a healthy
diet. It does not effectively promote exercise or whole fresh
foods like fruits and vegetables. Maybe using these products as
supplement in conjunction with a healthier plan would be
healthier.
