Diet Ayds to Aydslim

Burn The FatAydslim Diet Review -
In the 1940’s the Carlay Company of  Chicago introduced an appetite suppressant candy called Ayds. These chewy candy chews cubes came in chocolate, chocolates mint, butterscotch, caramel, and peanut butter flavors that could be taken with a cup of hot tea before meals as a appetite suppressant.  The original active ingredient used in this product was Benzocaine.  Benzocaine today is commonly used as a topical pain reliever.

In time, consumers were wondering if the products really worked.  The Carlay Company sold the product, which was sold again and again.  The active ingredient was then changed to phenlpropanolamine (PPA), which is now sold only under a prescription. PPA reduces the sense of taste, which will reduce the sense of eating.  In 1987 the Ayds name and product was sold to Jeffery Martin Inc.

The candy hit the height of popularity and sales soared
in the 1970’s, although there was no clinical studies too prove or disprove Ayds claims.

What we like about this plan
It was they top selling over the counter diet aids of the 1960’s and 1970’s. They were inexpensive, required no diet plan, and the active ingredients were tame and safe in the doses given in each sweet chocolate square. This was much more delightful back then the swallowing a pill.

What we dislike about the plan
The manufacturers never marketed the product with a sensible weight loss and exercise plan.  In addition, we have no concrete proof that the candies really clinically suppressed appetite.  The suppressant is now withdrawn from the market due to the public awareness of HIV.

How Healthy is this plan?
As far as this appetite suppressants goes, the answer is no.  No because there truly is no plan.  You hope to be able to starve yourself without the feel of hunger.  What happens after that?  You are basically stuck in a yo-yo pattern that never ends, nor changes your lifestyle to a healthy one.

Here Is The Bottom Line
It was the case of the wrong name at the wrong time!  AIDS awareness began around the mid-1981 caused problems for the phonetically similar named suppressant.  Humor from the commercials and ads (i.e. Ayds helps you lose weight or Thank Goodness for Ayds) during a time when people were wasting away from the HIV infection caused sales to fall 50 percent.  The product tried to change its name to Diet Ayds and Aydslim, but nothing helped the struggling candy.  Today, old commercials can be found on the internet with a reappearance of popularity and diet trivia.
